Yes, I'm still doing "I got TOR".
Now, I thought I'd clear up any confusion about me and the CoD series. As you may very well know, this series and I have a certain history, and this history tends to get garbled. As some of you may know, MW3 will be my final CoD game. I have no interest whatsoever in getting Black Ops 2, and unless IW does something new and amazing with their next game, I won't be getting that either. But as for the individual games:
CoD4: Yes, this is still my absolute favorite game in the world. It changed the FPS forever, gave birth to the prolific CoD formula, and in its time it was an absolute blast to play. Sadly, the game has been hacked to high hell on the console versions, but minus that it's STILL the best game in the world.
WaW: I didn't play this game nearly as much as I played the other games, but I still respect it for what it is. It's a good game, not exactly balanced, but good nonetheless.
MW2: I don't care what anyone else says, I LOVE this game. It's quirky, but its quirks are really only an issue if you don't know how to handle them. I swear to god, if one more person tries to tell me that every gun is overpowered, I will brutally lobotomize them. That aside, the game is just simple chaotic fun. 18 people running around the map with awesome guns is a recipe for pure intensity. And it's this same intensity that separates it from its competitors. It also doesn't try to go gung-ho with teamwork like BF does, but teamwork is still very effective should you employ it. This kind of freedom to choose how you play, while far from unprecedented, is still very welcome and further helps to give this game its identity.
Black Ops: Black Ops is pretty much the polar opposite of MW2. It's a fan favorite, to be sure, but I just can't stand this game. It's just boring. Boring, boring, boring. There are only 3 guns worth using (and I think treyarch actually nerfed 2 of them), the perks are mostly useless, the maps are dogshit, the game lags something awful, and zombies is more about exploiting the crappy design than it is about actually surviving.
MW3: MW2.5? I wish! No, instead we got Black Ops 1.5. Okay, I like MW3, it's definitely alot better than Black Ops, but there's alot that I really don't like, too. I believe Sandy Ravage said it best, It's like a mix between MW2 and Black Ops, and it really shows. It's got most of what I loved from MW2, but also way too much of what I hated from Black Ops. Badass guns from MW2? Check! Intensity from MW2? Check! Bad maps from Black Ops? Check! Intense lag from Black Ops? Check! The only thing about MW3 that really makes it stand out is the survival mode, which has been done before... but not done better.
There, my final opinions on the CoD series. I hope I have finally eliminated any confusion here. If you have any questions, please use the comments section below.
